SMS Consent Script

Effective date: September 19, 2026

This page publishes, word for word, the consent language used by Wisconsin Center for Orthopedics and Wellness, S.C., doing business as Wichman Orthopedics and Wellness, to obtain permission to send text messages. It is published so that anyone, including mobile carriers reviewing our messaging program, can verify exactly how consent is captured.

Where consent is captured

Verbally, on inbound telephone calls placed by the consumer to (414) 338-7300, our published practice number. Calls are answered by our automated AI phone assistant and are recorded. This is the only way to opt in to our text messages.

The script, read word for word

“Perfect. Just to confirm: is it okay if Wichman Orthopedics and Wellness sends you text messages at this number? Those would be a notice when scheduling opens, appointment reminders and confirmations, and follow-up after a visit. That’s up to about six messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP anytime to opt out, or HELP for help. Our text message terms are at wichmanortho.com/sms-terms, and our privacy policy is at wichmanortho.com/privacy. Do I have your okay to text you, yes or no?”

What counts as consent

Only an explicit “yes” from the consumer. Silence, an unclear answer, or any other response is not recorded as consent, and no text messages are sent.

Confirmation

After a “yes,” the assistant says: “Great, you’re opted in. You’ll get a confirmation text before we start sending updates, and you can reply STOP anytime.” The confirmation message identifies the practice, the message frequency, the rates disclosure, and STOP and HELP instructions.

Consent is optional

Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of receiving care, scheduling an appointment, or any other service. Consumers may opt out at any time by replying STOP, by telling us on a call, or by emailing us; we honor all of these.

Records we keep

For each consumer who opts in we retain the date and time of consent, the recording and transcript of the call on which consent was given, the mobile number, and the campaign the consent was given for.
